Episcopal Academy product Greg Isdaner's stay with his hometown team was short-lived.

The Eagles released Isdaner, a guard, and cornerback Stoney Woodson from the practice squad yesterday and signed former Penn State offensive lineman Gerald Cadogan to the practice squad.

Isdaner, 23, who played at West Virginia, was signed to the practice squad Nov. 25. He had signed with Dallas as an undrafted free agent and was cut in the preseason. Before joining the Eagles, he had been doing some assistant-coaching at Episcopal.

Cadogan was a 2-year starter at left tackle for the Nittany Lions before signing with the Carolina Panthers as a rookie free agent this year. After being released by the Panthers on Aug. 31, Cadogan spent time on the Cincinnati and San Diego practice squads. He was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection and a two-time Academic All-America.

Staying put

The Eagles' home game against San Francisco on Dec. 20 will remain a 1 p.m. start, the NFL decided. There was some thought the league would adjust the starting time based on the flex-scheduling option. Instead, Minnesota-Carolina will remain the Sunday night game and the Eagles-49ers game remains unchanged. The only adjustment the league made was moving Green Bay-Pittsburgh from 1 to 4:15 p.m.

The Eagles visit the New York Giants this Sunday night in a crucial NFC East matchup.
