Former Buffalo coach Turner Gill officially became the head coach at Kansas yesterday.

Kansas will formally introduce Gill as successor to Mark Mangino today.

Mangino, the most successful Kansas coach in 100 years, resigned under pressure on Dec. 3 after a 2-week investigation into alleged mistreatment of players. Just 2 years earlier, Mangino had been consensus national coach of the year following a 12-1 campaign and a victory in the Orange Bowl.

Gill is no stranger to the Big 12, having been an option quarterback for Nebraska in the early 1980s.
