Tavistock's Tom Gramigna made five birdies on the back nine Thursday at Philadelphia Cricket Club's Militia Hill course and rallied to win the Golf Association of Philadelphia's 27th Mid-Amateur Championship.

Gramigna, a 40-year-old from Haddonfield, was 2 shots behind Bidermann's Bill Jeremiah with nine holes left before finishing the 36-hole event with a 7-under-par total of 137.

Gramigna made birdies on the 10th, 12th, 14th, 16th and 17th holes with putts ranging from three to 25 feet.

Jeremiah, who chipped in twice for birdies, bogeyed two of the last three holes and finished 1 shot behind.

First-day leader Chip Lutz of LedgeRock fired a second-day 75 to tie the Cricket Club's Rob Savarese at 142.
