Carpenter Cup starts today

The 25th annual Carpenter Cup Classic baseball tournament begins with three games today at Ashburn Field in FDR Park in South Philadelphia.

The semifinal and championship games will be played at Citizens Bank Park on June 28 and June 29.

Olympic Colonial opens the tournament at 9 a.m. against Tri-Cape, followed by defending champion Burlington County at 12:30 p.m. against Delaware South, and Jersey Shore vs. Delaware North at 4 p.m.

There is a one-time ticket charge of $5 that covers all games played at Ashburn Field. Semifinal and championship game tickets are $3 each and can be purchased at Citizens Bank Park on the day of the game.

The softball version of the Carpenter Cup begins June 21, at the FDR Park softball fields.
