Mason with Flyers for Game 1
After staying behind in Philadelphia earlier in the day for treatment, Steve Mason was with his team last night.
NEW YORK - Steve Mason met the Flyers in New York for Game 1 against the Rangers last night, after remaining in Philadelphia for medical treatment during the day.
Mason, 25, is still recovering from an injury suffered when Jayson Megna and defenseman Andrew MacDonald collided with him in Pittsburgh last Saturday.
The Flyers have not revealed the nature of his injury - nor have they denied that Mason suffered a concussion on the play. The fact Mason practiced briefly Tuesday and was not healthy enough to skate a day later only fueled the speculation.
Coach Craig Berube said he did not know whether Mason would be available for Game 2 on Sunday afternoon, but would practice today.
"He's feeling better," Berube said before last night's game.
The Flyers' scratches are scheduled to skate today in Manhattan, but it is unclear whether Mason will participate.
