Red Wings skate past Hurricanes

Petr Mrazek made 34 saves for the Red Wings, who have won three in a row and seven of eight.

Jay McClement scored for Carolina, which has lost three of four. Cam Ward stopped 19 shots.

It was Hurricanes coach Bill Peters' first game against his former boss and mentor Mike Babcock. Peters was an assistant to Babcock for three seasons in Detroit.

Ducks 4, Jets 3 - Kyle Palmieri scored 53 seconds into overtime to lift visiting Anaheim over Winnipeg.

Ryan Getzlaf added three assists for Anaheim (18-6-5), including the assist on Palmieri's winner and extended his point streak to five games. Getzlaf has two goals and eight assists during his current streak.

Rene Bourque scored his first goal of the year for the Ducks and Jakob Silfverberg and Ryan Kesler also scored goals.

Senators 4, Canucks 3 - Erik Karlsson scored 1 minute, 21 seconds into overtime to lift host Ottawa over Vancouver.

Mike Zibanejad had two goals and two assists, David Legwand also scored and Craig Anderson stopped 30 shots for the Senators. Ottawa rallied from three goals down to snap a five-game losing streak (0-4-1).

Oilers 2, Sharks 1 - Visiting San Jose had won four in a row, Edmonton had gone 11 games and more than four weeks without a victory.

Both streaks ended when the Oilers earned the win.
