Man kills woman then self in Montco murder-suicide

A man shot and killed  a woman and then turned the weapon on himself in what officials said Monday was a murder-suicide in a Cheltenham Township apartment.

Police were called to the Lynnewood Gardens Apartments in the 2000 block of South John Russell Circle about 10:30 a.m. Friday to check on the welfare of a resident, the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office said.

Inside the locked apartment, officers found Ashley Conway, 31, and Roger Chandler, 29, both dead, according to the District Attorney's Office.

An autopsy concluded Chandler, who died of a single gunshot wound to the head, had committed suicide. Conway died of multiple gunshot wounds. Her death was ruled a homicide.

Officials did not spell out the nature of the relationship between the two.
