Camden man pleads to manslaughter in 2014 shooting death
A Camden man has pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the 2014 shooting death of another man.
LaVonne Hinson, 27, pleaded guilty on Monday to one count of first-degree aggravated manslaughter in the death of 31-year-old Christopher Rivera, of Pennsauken, the Camden County Prosecutor's Office said Tuesday.
On Sept. 29, 2014, Rivera, who was shot multiple times, was found by police inside a home on the 1200 block of Thurman Street in Camden.
Under the terms of a plea deal, Hinson will be sentenced to 16 years in state prison when he is sentenced Jan. 6 in Superior Court. He had originally been charged with murder. The Prosecutor's Office on Tuesday said the motive for the shooting was unclear.
