Trainer Michael Matz's Chelokee is tied for 23d on the graded-earnings list for the May 5 Kentucky Derby and will need some help to get into the race with the Derby cutoff at 20.
The owners of Slew's Tizzy, who won Saturday's Lexington Stakes at Keeneland, are seriously considering running. His victory catapulted him to No. 14 on the list.
Xchanger, who won the Tesio Stakes at Pimlico Saturday, also may run in the Derby. He is No. 15, and it's possible that the connections of No. 22 Imawildandcrazyguy are thinking Derby, too, which affects Chelokee's chances.
If Chelokee and Reporting for Duty, both with $100,000 in graded earnings, wind up tied for 20th, Churchill spokesman John Asher said, there would be a two-horse draw - two pills would be put in a bottle - with the winner getting into the field.
