As general manager of the Philadelphia Wings, Lindsay Sanderson will lead the hunt for a new head coach to replace, well, himself.
Sanderson and his staff were fired yesterday after the team posted a 6-10 record this past season. In his three seasons as head coach, Sanderson posted a 21-27 record. Sanderson was hired as coach and general manager before the 2004 season.
"This decision was a difficult one, but we did not feel that the team made reasonable progress this past season," Wings president Russ Cline said.
"We are very appreciative of the dedicated service of the coaches and believe that they have built a talented roster with outstanding potential. Lindsay will lead our search for a new head coach that will begin immediately." *
