Marcio Leite, who also had two assists, was credited with the game-winner at U.S. Cellular Arena.
Nick Vorberg stopped six of the nine shots he faced, while the defense blocked nine Kixx shots.
The defending MISL champion Kixx fell to 2-6, while the Wave improved to 5-2.
Three of the Kixx' four scorers - Wendell Regis, Drew Kopp and John Barry Nusum - recorded their first two-point goals of the season.
Tony Donatelli scored his sixth goal in seven games.
Player-coach Don D'Ambra contributed two assists, bringing his season total to nine, tops on the team.
