Phantoms top Hershey

Stefan Ruzicka and Boyd Kane had two goals apiece and Jared Ross recorded three assists as the Phantoms beat Hershey last night, 5-2, in an American Hockey League game at the Wachovia Spectrum.

Brian Boucher got the win in goal with 27 saves . Hershey's Frederic Cassivi took the loss.

The Phantoms did most of their damage in the second period. Jonathan Matsumoto scored a little more than 4 minutes in the period to put the Phantoms up, 2-1. Five minutes later, the Phantoms were just 9 seconds into a power play when Ruzicka scored.

Less than a minute later, Kane's second goal of the night made it 4-1.

The Phantoms are off through the Christmas holiday, and return Thursday in Norfolk. The next home game is Friday against Binghamton. *
