The National Lacrosse League yesterday named Wings forward Athan Iannucci as the league's most valuable player.

In his second season, Iannucci led the league in goals with an NLL-record 71 and points with 100. He also tied for the league lead in game-winning goals (five) with Sean Pollock of the Minnesota Swarm.

Iannucci's 71 goals surpassed the record of 61 set by Minnesota's Gary Gait in 2003.
