DULUTH, Ga. - Jonathan Byrd took advantage of soft fairways and receptive greens at TPC Sugarloaf yesterday, shooting his second straight 6-under-par 66 to take a 3-stroke lead at 12-under 132 in the AT&T Classic.
Byrd, seeking his fourth PGA Tour victory, shared the lead with Kenny Perry, Ryan Palmer and two others when the second round began.
The course was drenched with more than an inch of rain Thursday, and though none fell in the second round, overcast conditions kept the sun from drying the fairways and greens and making the course play faster.
Perry and Palmer shot 69s to drop into a tie for second.
HOOVER, Ala. - Andy Bean and qualifier Mike Goodes shot 7-under 65s to share the first-round lead at the Regions Charity Classic.
Bernhard Langer, the Tour's leading money-winner, was 2 strokes back at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Ross Bridge.
CLIFTON, N.J. - Rain washed out play in the Sybase Classic at Upper Montclair Country Club.
Tournament officials rescheduled the second round for today and reduced the $2 million tournament from 72 holes to 54.
Annika Sorenstam was tied for the lead with Rachel Hetherington and Song-Hee Kim at 5-under 67.
ADARE, Ireland - France's Michael Lorenzo-Vera shot a 2-under 70 and had a 1-stroke lead at 6-under 138 after the second round of the Irish Open at Adare Manor.
