High Schools - Playoff baseball is busy for Public, Catholic leagues
Can baseball be played in a swimming pool? It might come to that. Six playoff baseball games are scheduled today in the Public League (semifinals) and Catholic League (quarterfinals), but yesterday featured nothing but rain and the forecast for today is nothing promising, either.

If you're a betting man, go with the Pub having a better chance of getting in its games than the CL. Reason? The field at La Salle University consists of artificial turf.
Anyway, here's the schedule. Keep your fingers crossed . . . And your toes.
Public League semifinals, doubleheader at La Salle University: Frankford vs. Northeast, 2 o'clock; George Washington vs. Central, approximately 4:30.
Catholic League quarterfinals, all games at 3:45: Ryan at Conwell-Egan; Kennedy-Kenrick at Bonner; La Salle at Neumann-Goretti (old Neumann, 25th and Moore); Wood at St. Joseph's Prep (Ashburn Field, Broad and Pattison). *
