Minor Leagues: Jackson's 7 RBIs spur Thunder

READING - Austin Jackson drove in seven runs as the Trenton Thunder flogged the Reading Phillies, 15-5, yesterday in the Eastern League.

The Thunder reached season highs in runs and hits (18) in their fifth consecutive win and 12th in the last 16 games.

Jackson hit a grand slam in the fourth inning off Phillies righthander Kip Bouknight and ripped a three-run triple off Fabio Castro in the seventh.

Jackson's seven RBIs in a game tied a franchise record set by Israel Alcantara in 1999, and tied by Jorge DeLeon in 2000 and Aaron Rifkin in 2003.

Trenton also got big days from Kevin Russo (4 for 5), Edwar Gonzalez (3 for 6), and Jose Tabata (3 for 6, 4 RBIs).

Phil Coke started and got the win, allowing two runs and four hits over six innings.

Before the game, Thunder righthander Dan McCutchen was promoted to triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Righthander Bo Hall was sent down to Trenton, which also sent righthander Josh Schmidt to single-A Tampa.
