After a scoreless first period, Ross' seventh goal of the season gave the Phantoms a 1-0 lead, and his second of the game and a goal by Boyd Kane opened a 3-2 lead after two periods.
Giroux' 10th goal, one by David Laliberte and a shorthanded goal by Jon Matsumoto, also his 10th, finished the Phantoms' scoring in the third period.
Ross finished with his two goals and one assist, and Giroux had two assists to go with his goal. Defenseman Danny Syvret had two assists.
Artem Ansimov scored two goals for Hartford, which had two power-play goals as the Pack outshot the Phantoms, 41-25. Scott Munroe stopped 38 shots in the Phantoms' goal.
The Phantoms host Binghamton tonight, and then play at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton tomorrow. *
