Phantoms post fifth straight win

Claude Giroux scored the game-winner at 7:10 of the third period to secure the Phantoms' 2-1 victory over the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins yesterday at the Wachovia Spectrum.

Goalie Scott Munroe finished with 28 saves and Boyd Kane also scored for the Phantoms, who have won five in a row and host Binghamton on Wednesday.

Thanks to the Monterrey La Raza, the Kixx remain one win shy of 250 in the team's 12-year history. The Kixx lost to Monterrey, 14-12, on Saturday at the Wachovia Spectrum. Kixx forward Hewerton Moreira recorded his third consecutive hat trick in the losing effort. *
