Good things certainly came in threes for Phelps' basketball team yesterday.

In a Tri-County League game against visiting Barrack Hebrew, the trio of Glenn Richards, Isaac Tobis and Eric Young earned double-doubles to help Phelps beat visiting Barrack Hebrew, 61-45.

Richards scored 25 points, grabbed 17 rebounds and blocked three shots. Tobis scored 15 points, pulled down 13 rebounds and handed out six assists, and Young added 13 points, 13 rebounds and six assists.

The Lions put the game away early, taking a 19-6 lead by the end of the first quarter.

Del-Val Friends raced to a 28-14 lead in the first half and dropped visiting Wyncote Academy, 55-38.

Arthur Borgerhoff scored 33 points for Del-Val, offsetting a 32-point performance by Keith Sheppard for the Lions.


Kyle Richardson came off the bench to score six of his 11 points in the fourth quarter and sparked Kensington to a 49-42 win over visiting Edison.

Fran Dougherty struck for a triple-double and led Archbishop Wood past visiting Conwell-Egan, 70-39.

Dougherty scored 20 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and blocked 10 shots for the Vikings.

Kiwan Murray beat the buzzer with a layup and handed West Catholic a 43-41 win over host Cardinal Dougherty.

Rob Holloman dropped in 10 points for the Burrs.


Julian Kaminoff picked up 17 points and sparked New Hope-Solebury to a 68-61 win over host Devon Prep.


Malik Carter accounted for a triple-double and led Chichester to a 71-55 win over visiting Sun Valley.

Carter notched 17 points, 16 rebounds and 10 assists for the Eagles.

Pendarvis Williams collected 21 points and led Bodine past host Archbishop Ryan, 54-51, in overtime.

Dain Suber collected 11 of his 20 points in the final quarter to boost Delaware Valley Charter to a 79-70 win over host Olney.

Suber was one of five Warriors to score in double figures.

Saul withstood a barrage of three pointers and beat host Nueva Esperanza, 60-48.

Andy Bousono dropped in 6 of 10 three's knocked down by the Toros and scored 25 points. The Razorbacks were paced by Tyrell Smith, who scored 17 points.

Lorenzo Christmas and Khalif Wyatt each scored 14 points to lift Norristown past visiting Methacton, 62-48.

Mercy Vocational spread the scoring around and handled visiting Collegium, 68-50.

Darryl Wood scored 18 points and was one of nine Monarchs to find the scoring column.

Germel Ford struck for 17 points and lifted Masterman past host De La Salle, 58-56.

Upper Perkiomen overcame a first-half deficit and tripped visiting Upper Merion, 54-44.

Rylan Treffinger paced the Indians with 16 points.


Ricardo Robles pinned in 22 seconds at 112 pounds and helped Edison hold off Cardinal Dougherty, 42-40, in a nonleague match.

Perhaps the key performance of the day was turned in by first-year wrestler Lender Vega. He lost his bout at 130 pounds, 12-3, but avoided a pin that would have tied the match for the Cardinals.
