Phantoms sink Admirals in shoot-out

Branden Bochenski and Chris Gratton scored goals in the shoot-out session last night to lift the Norfolk Admirals to a 3-2 win over the Phantoms in an AHL game at the Wachovia Spectrum.

Regulation ended in a 2-2 tie after the Phantoms' Claude Giroux scored with less than six minutes left in the third period.

Jared Ross's score with less than eight minutes left in the second period brought the Phantoms (19-11-0-1) to a 1-1 tie. Jason Ward scored just under five minutes later to put Norfolk (12-16-1-4) ahead by 2-1.

Phantoms goalie Scott Munroe stopped 33 of 35 shots.
