Despite nine power-play opportunities, the Phantoms were unable to score on division-rival Wilkes-Barre/Scranton in a 4-0 loss last night in American Hockey League action at the Wachovia Spectrum.
Penguins center Jeff Taffe had a hand in all four Penguins goals, Chris Minard added to his league-leading goal scoring tally with two goals and John Curry stopped all 24 shots fired his way as the Pens pulled within a point of the Phantoms in the East Division.
Phantoms goalie Scott Munroe finished with 25 saves. The Phantoms' point streak ended, but they still hold an 8-1-0-1 record in December.
The Phantoms travel to Norfolk tonight and visit Wilkes-Barre/Scranton for a rematch on Tuesday. *
