NORFOLK, Va. - The Norfolk Admirals swamped the Phantoms with four goals in the second period on the way to a 7-2 win last night in an AHL game at the Arena at Harbor Yard.

Jonathan Matsumoto scored both goals for the Phantoms (19-13-0-1), the first of which came 17 minutes, 38 seconds into the second period to cut the Admirals' lead to 5-1.

The Admirals (13-16-1-4) scored two more goals in the game before Matsumoto scored again with a little less than six minutes remaining in the third period.

Norfolk's Mike McKenna got the win in the nets for Norfolk, stopping 34 of 36 shots.

The Admirals peppered Phantoms goalie Scott Munroe with 48 shots.

The Phantoms, who have lost three straight, travel to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Tuesday night to face the Penguins.
