First start was big hit

Here is another in a series of memories from the 2008 championship season.
Catcher Lou Marson's favorite memory from the Phillies 2008 World Series championship season came on the final day of the regular season, Sept. 28.
The Phillies had clinched the National League East title the day before and the clubhouse still smelled of champagne when Marson arrived and saw his name in the lineup. The 22-year-old Arizonan made his first major-league start and collected the first hit and also the first homer of his big-league career in an 8-3 win over Washington.
"It was definitely a good feeling," Marson said. "I was able to get both balls [as souvenirs]. I'm happy the team called me up in September and let me stay around for the playoffs, the World Series, and the parade. That parade was great."
