N.J. prospect Trout selected by Angels

Mike Trout, an outfielder from Millville Senior High School, was selected No. 25 by the Los Angeles Angels in the baseball draft.

Trout, a 6-1, 200-pounder who bats and throws righthanded, had earned a baseball scholarship to East Carolina.

Trout, who had been contacted by all 30 major league teams, finished his senior year at Millville hitting .500 in 18 games with 11 home runs and 30 RBI. He is a speedy outfielder who can cover a lot of ground.
