READING - Lefthander Joe Savery allowed just one hit in six shutout innings yesterday as the Reading Phillies handed the Harrisburg Senators a 5-2 Eastern League loss.
READING - Lefthander Joe Savery allowed just one hit in six shutout innings yesterday as the Reading Phillies handed the Harrisburg Senators a 5-2 Eastern League loss.
Savery, the Phillies' first-round draft pick in 2007, was not affected by the unique 9:30 a.m. starting time, running his record to 8-1 and lowering his ERA to 3.47. He struck out four and walked three.
The Phillies backed Savery with two-run homers by Gus Milner and Kevin Mahar and a solo shot by Neil Sellers.
