Brown gives Reading 1-0 win

READING - Domonic Brown led off the ninth inning with a double and then scored later on Kevin Mahar's single to give the Reading Phillies a 1-0 win over the Binghamton Mets yesterday in the Eastern League.

Michael Stutes scattered both Mets hits over seven innings and struck out nine batters. Reliever Sergio Escalona tossed two hitless innings to complete the shutout.

BUFFALO, N.Y. - Tobi Stoner scattered four hits over six innings to get the win for the Bisons before relievers Jon Switzer and Adam Bostick preserved the shutout over Kyle Kendrick and the IronPigs in the International League.

Harrisburg 3, Trenton 1

HARRISBURG - With the bases loaded in the seventh, the Senators' Joel Guzman scored the deciding run from third on an error by Thunder shortstop Eduardo Nunez before Sean Rooney provided an insurance score with a sacrifice fly in the Eastern League.

CHARLESTON, S.C. - Jim Murphy's leadoff homer in the top of the sixth led to a four-run rally as the BlueClaws topped the RiverDogs in the South Atlantic League.

LANCASTER - The Riversharks' Josh Brey tossed a complete game two-hitter, outdueling the Barnstormers' Jason Scobie in the Atlantic League.
