Spotlight on: Moorestown Friends senior Ben "Buck" Smith

Lacrosse accomplishments: He was a varsity goalie for four years and this season helped lead the Foxes to the South Jersey Non-Public B playoffs.

Lacrosse history: He began playing about 10 years ago. "I used to be a hockey player, and what got me into lacrosse was that it is a physical sport and I love everything about it," Smith said.

Future: Smith will attend the University of Vermont, where he hopes to play club lacrosse. He will be a civil engineer major.

Did you know?: One of his passions is building things. "I have done a couple of bathrooms, and I do whatever job comes along," he said. "I've done anything from bathrooms to basements to decks. I have built sets for 19 different shows."

Other activities: Smith was a cross-country runner and has done work for Habitat for Humanity. He also works in the maintenance department at his school, where last year he took down all the overhead fans and rewired them.

The final word: "We had only three seniors on the team, and it's been great watching everybody progress to a high level of play," he said. "We didn't have one star, but the whole team worked together and the best part was winning together as a team."
