Hoops coach leaves C.H. West, joins East

Dave Allen has resigned as boys' basketball coach at Cherry Hill West, but he will remain in the coaching ranks.

Allen stepped down to become an assistant coach at his alma mater, Cherry Hill East.

A 1989 graduate, Allen played for current East coach John Valore. Allen was later an assistant for five years under Valore.

After his time as an assistant, Allen became head coach at Eastern for seven seasons and coach at Cherry Hill West for the past five years.

"I am doing this because I want to have the chance to work with John Valore because we have been close for a long time," Allen said. "Cherry Hill East is a very special place to me, and I am looking forward to a great year."
