Two of the area's best girls' basketball teams are scheduled to meet Saturday - more than 1,000 miles away.

Prep Charter and Spring-Ford moved into the championship game of the KSA Tournament in Orlando with hard-fought victories Friday.

Prep Charter, ranked fourth in Southeastern Pennsylvania by The Inquirer, knocked off Colonial High School, 56-55. Hannah Timmons scored the final six points of the game. She finished with a team-high 22.

Colonial, which came in unbeaten and ranked fourth in Florida, had time for a last-second shot from nearly full court, but it hit off the backboard.

India Cauley scored nine points for the Huskies and had 11 rebounds. Ciana Cryor added nine assists and seven steals, and Martiana Wilson pulled in nine rebounds.

Spring-Ford, the No. 1 team in The Inquirer's rankings, used a strong fourth quarter to defeat Chartiers Valley, 43-37. Shelby Mueller led the Rams with 12 points and Sarah Payonk had 10.

Both Spring-Ford, a Class AAAA school, and Prep Charter, an AAA team, lost in the state semifinals last season in their respective classes.

Suburban One National. Council Rock North recorded 39 steals in a 69-31 defeat of visiting Truman. Tara Garfield scored 15 points, Michaela Finneyfrock added 13, and Krista Campbell had 11. Campbell also had eight rebounds and five assists. Jessica Gerber chipped in with nine points, six steals and four assists.

Junior guard/forward Nikki Alden scored 17 points and William Tennent beat visiting Bensalem, 48-35.

Suburban One American. Regie Robinson, who had a double-double in her first four games this season, needed only a half to turn the trick in Upper Merion's 54-14 win over visiting Springfield (Mont.). Robinson, a sophomore guard, had 20 points and 12 rebounds.

Central League. Marykate Rumbaugh and Sam Foy combined for 27 points as Ridley won at Haverford High, 38-32.

Nonleague. Megan Quinn scored seven of her game-high 15 points in the fourth quarter as Episcopal Academy beat visiting Bishop Shanahan, 58-32. Sarah Abbonizio chipped in with 12 for the Churchwomen, who used a 15-2 advantage in the second quarter to take control.

Jana Goodman and Traci Goodman combined for 34 points as Phil-Mont Christian won at Calvary Baptist, 48-27.

Jenna Carroll and Kelly Glatthorn combined for 17 points in the fourth quarter as Methacton pulled away late to beat visiting West Chester Rustin, 59-45. Carroll had a game-high 21 points and Glatthorn finished with 15. Methacton outscored West Chester Rustin, 20-10, in the final period. Kelsey Watson had 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Ten St. Hubert players scored as the Bambis remained unbeaten with a 64-32 win over visiting Springside Chestnut Hill. Elizabeth Jones led the way with 16. Charlotte Kucowski added 14, and Megan Matthews had 13.

Junior center Lauren Mosher powered Central Bucks South to a 60-42 win at Quakertown. Mosher had 19 points and 16 rebounds, including six on the offensive glass.

Gia D'Angelo made a late free-throw that helped seal Sun Valley's 34-32 win at Penn Wood. D'Angelo scored a game-high 16 points.

Nike Tournament. Colleen Young led Archbishop Wood with 13 points in a loss to St. Mary's of California.
