Rangers top Flames in shootout

Beleaguered goalie Henrik Lundqvist stopped Mikael Backlund to give the Rangers the win. New York is 1-3-1 on its team-record, nine-game homestand.

Jonathan Toews set up two of Chicago's three first-period goals, and the host Blackhawks cooled off the Los Angeles Kings with a 3-1 victory in a rematch of last season's Western Conference finals.

Ben Bishop made 28 saves for his sixth career shutout, and the visiting Tampa Bay Lightning beat the Detroit Red Wings, 3-0.

Jesse Winchester and Nick Bjugstad scored in a 2:27 span in the second period, and Scott Clemmensen made 17 saves in the visiting Florida Panthers' 2-1 victory over the Montreal Canadiens.

Florida extended its winning streak to three games, and Montreal lost for the third time in four games.

Dustin Penner scored the tiebreaking goal with 3:17 to play; Ryan Getzlaf extended his points streak to 14 games; and the host Anaheim Ducks beat the Edmonton Oilers, 3-2, for their fifth straight victory.

Suspension

Winnipeg Jets forward Anthony Peluso has been suspended for three games for boarding Stars defenseman Alex Goligoski in Winnipeg's 6-4 loss to Dallas on Saturday night.

Peluso was assessed a major penalty for boarding and a game misconduct on the play in the second period.
