COLLEGES Oklahoma State football star Tyreek Hill, was arrested Thursday night in Stillwater, Okla., accused of punching and choking his girlfriend. The woman said she was eight weeks pregnant and was concerned about the fetus. The report said the all-Big 12 player, a 20-year-old junior, was arrested shortly after 11 p.m. on a charge of domestic abuse by strangulation. Hill's electrifying 92-yard punt return for a touchdown tied last Saturday's game against Oklahoma, and his Cowboys went on to win, 38-35, in OT.
Gary Andersen was introduced as Oregon State's football coach, telling the crowd that there's no doubt in his mind that he's where he's supposed to be. Andersen replaces Mike Riley, who surprisingly left Oregon State last week after 14 seasons in Corvallis. It was equally surprising when Andersen announced he was leaving Wisconsin.
BOXING Britain's Amir Khan will wear boxing's "most expensive shorts" when he steps into the ring to face American Devon Alexander in a welterweight bout in Las Vegas Saturday. Former Olympic silver medalist Khan will wear shorts made of white nappa leather, silk, and featuring a waistband of 24-carat gold thread, with a reported value of at least $31,430.
