THE UNION will open its sixth season on March 7 at PPL Park against the Colorado Rapids, Major League Soccer announced yesterday.

The entire schedule has yet to be released but the Union's second game is set for March 14 on the road against Real Salt Lake. It will be RSL's home opener at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, Utah. The league yesterday announced the home opener for each club.

The Chester-based Union played its season opener at home only once in its first five seasons. It is 3-2-0 in home openers. This will be its first under head coach Jim Curtin.

Tickets for the opener are on sale at the team's website.
