Behold the power of blogging
Posts can forge a connection with readers.

I was annoyed with my sister when I was sitting with her in our living room. Listening to her one-word responses while intensely focusing on her phone led me to write a blog post about how "Technology is Ruling Over Our Lives." I clicked submit with confidence that bloggers would relate to my post. It was about a subject that I am guilty of, but I was willing to make technology less of a priority in my life.
It was a class assignment to create a blog, and I enjoyed getting feedback from my classmates. But I only hoped for those outside of my classroom to come across my blog post.
A few days later, I had forgotten about my post until an inspirational comment was left by Eliza Waters, a blogger who loves to take photographs of her garden and write about the beauty of nature. The comment wasn't any ordinary "good job." It was a comment that touched my heart.
Her comment read:
"It is awesome that you realize this and have great awareness for one so young - your future indeed will be brilliant! I'm excited for you, your positive energy will radiate out in ever widening circles, impacting more people than you can possibly imagine. Shine on!"
Not only did this comment inspire me to keep blogging, it made me realize how amazing it is to be able to connect with people who enjoy reading what I have to say. Here I was, blogging about the downside of technology, when in fact, technology was the main reason I have interacted with such an inspirational woman.
In today's world with the many media platforms and information technology, millennials have an array of choices in how they communicate with their peers and the rest of the world. Blogging is something I do when I feel the need to inspire people with my words.
I write about something that everyone can relate to and is a necessity to have in one's life - positivity. I add tags to make my posts easier to come across for those who need some optimism in their lives. I now have 35 followers and counting!
It may not seem to be that many people, considering that we have hundred of friends on Facebook and followers on Twitter. However, each follower means the world to me. They keep me moving forward and give me the opportunity to create a special bond.
In spite of technology, I have developed many relationships via the Web - including Eliza Waters. For all I know, she could be living in the Philadelphia region or across the world! The relationship that has been created between us remains strong despite the distance.
People should look into making their own free blogging accounts on Wordpress or Blogspot. It can give them the advantage to write without any limits, and individuals can add context to their posts for the reader to enjoy.
Not only will average people express themselves through words, they will meet an amazing group of people along the way - as I experienced with all of my followers.
