Photos: Isaiah Zagar’s Mosaic Legacy Across Philadelphia

Photos of Philadelphia mosaic artist Isaiah Zagar, the founder of Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens.

Isaiah Zagar perched in a cage of a 90 foot boom truck, rubs colored cement on his mosaic on the 300 block of Christian Street on April 11, 2007. Zagar rented a bucket crane so he can repair the mosaic which suffered damage from years of erosion from the wind and dirt. Zagar is completing the repair of his "oldest largest, highest and best" (according to him) mosaic wall at The Southwark/Queen Village Community Garden 311-333 Christian St. He completed the wall in 1996 in commemoration of the garden's 20th anniversary.
