What I Do

I am a sports copy editor for both the print and digital desks. I have won awards for headlines I've written for both The Inquirer and Daily News. I am responsible for the Daily News sports cover on the nights I work, conceiving the idea, selecting the art, and writing the headline.

My Background

I grew up in South Jersey reading the Philadelphia papers, and went to the University of Tulsa to study journalism. I interned at the Tulsa Tribune and was hired as a full-time sports writer before my senior year. After 12 fulfilling years as a writer, I was hired by the Daily News for the sports copy desk. I found my niche in 1989 when the tabloid ended the practice of starting stories on the covers and went to an all-display format. When the DN became an edition of The Inquirer, I adapted and felt I became as much an asset to The Inquirer as I was to the Daily News.
