What I Do

I oversee The Inquirer's politics team and edit a talented team of reporters who write stories about local, state, and federal government. I joined The Inquirer for the 2024 presidential election and coordinate our coverage of the Trump administration with a sharp focus on impacts felt here in the Philly area.

My Background

Before joining The Inquirer, I worked for the Kansas City Star, Miami Herald, the McClatchy Washington Bureau, and the Wichita Eagle in a variety of roles focused on politics from the local level up to the White House. I was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize as part of team that investigated government secrecy for the Kansas City Star in 2017.

As a congressional correspondent for the Star and McClatchy, I covered the aftermath of the Jan. 6 Capitol attack in 2021. I later moved to the White House, where I led the Miami Herald's coverage of Ketanji Brown Jackson's historic confirmation to the Supreme Court. I became an editor in 2022, overseeing the Star's coverage of the 2022 midterm election.
