Cabrini College looks to expand athletic complex

The Radnor-based school seeks zoning variance

Students at Cabrini College may soon have a larger athletic facility.

The school applied to Radnor Township for a zoning variance to build on to the 90,000 square foot Dixon Athletic Center. The proposed expansion would increase the dimensions of the building on the east and north sides and add 28,000 square feet of space. The extra room would be used for a fitness center, classroom, offices lobby locker rooms and storage, according to the township's zoning board.

The center, built in 1998, has a basketball court, 25 yard swimming pool, squash courts, dance/aerobic studio and a jogging track for use by students, alumni and community members.

The college will appear before the zoning board on May 15 to present their proposal.
