Naming cars is complex work

Earlier this month, at the Chicago Auto Show, Kia debuted a brand-new hybrid compact crossover called the Niro. Coined in South Korea, the model name is not intended to evoke a mad dictator who fiddled while Rome burned. Rather, by some accounts, it is a play on the German term for the grade of steel used in the vehicle's roof and roof pillars.
