1985 'Nova title run

On April 1, 1985, Villanova staged one of the greatest upsets in college basketball history by defeating Georgetown, 66-64, to win the NCAA tournament championship game. The contest was played in front of 23,000 at Rupp Arena in Lexington, Ky. Villanova (25-10), coached by Rollie Massimino, won with a tremendous shooting performance. Georgetown, which had won the title the season before, was coached by John Thompson and led by center Patrick Ewing.
