La Salle names veteran Philly sports broadcaster Dei Lynam as its head women’s golf coach
Lynam takes the helm of an Explorers program that started at the varsity level in 2016-17.

Veteran sports broadcaster Dei Lynam, best known for her role as a 76ers reporter with CSN, is following in her father’s footsteps as a head coach — except it’s not in basketball.
La Salle announced Thursday that it was naming Lynam, the daughter of former Sixers and St. Joseph’s men’s basketball coach Jim Lynam, as its head women’s golf coach.
“We’re excited to welcome Dei as our new women’s golf coach,” wrote Phil Snead, the school’s interim director of athletics, in a statement. “Dei is a household name in Philadelphia sports and will raise the profile of our program. We can’t wait to see her help our student-athletes excel on the course, in the classroom, and in the community.”
Lynam has been an avid golfer since age 28, per the university news release. She’s a member of Rolling Green Golf Club in Delaware County and serves as captain for the club’s Women’s Golf Association of Philadelphia team.
Since her time with CSN ended in 2017, Lynam has been a basketball broadcast analyst for the Delaware Blue Coats, the Sixers’ G League affiliate. She also hosts pre- and postgame radio shows on 97.5 The Fanatic around Sixers games and has broadcast women’s college basketball games, including at Princeton and Monmouth.
La Salle added women’s golf as a varsity sport in the 2016–17 season. Lynam becomes the fifth head coach of the program.
