Aaryn Parks, a 6-foot-5, 294-pound offensive tackle from National Christian Academy in Fort Washington, Md., has given an oral commitment to Penn State for the freshman class of 2020.

Parks, rated four stars by both Rivals and 247Sports, had been scheduled to announce his college choice from among five finalists — Penn State, Florida, Maryland, North Carolina and Oklahoma — on Thursday. But he delivered his decision Monday night in a Twitter post.

“No need to wait until Thursday. I know where I want to be now,” he wrote.

Parks is ranked No. 11 among the nation’s offensive tackles by Rivals and No. 19 by 247Sports. The two recruiting websites rank him as the No. 7 and No. 8 prospect in Maryland, respectively.

He is the fifth offensive lineman of the 10 players in the Nittany Lions’ 2020 recruiting class.
