Penn State and Temple set a kickoff time for their Week 2 matchup at Lincoln Financial Field
The Owls and Nittany Lions will renew their series on Sept. 12 at Lincoln Financial Field. It will air on ESPN2. Four former Penn State players now play for K.C. Keeler's squad.

When Penn State and Temple face off in football for the first time in a decade, it will be in a nationally televised game.
The matchup on Sept. 12 at Lincoln Financial Field will kick off at noon and air on ESPN2. The game was among the kickoff times announced Wednesday by the Owls and Nittany Lions.
K.C. Keeler is in his second season at Temple, which finished one game short of bowl eligibility in 2025, while Matt Campbell enters his first season in Happy Valley after spending the last 10 at Iowa State.
Among the storylines will be Temple quarterback Jaxon Smolik, defensive lineman Kaleb Artis, safety Kolin Dinkins, and tight end Joey Schlaffer, all of whom previously played at Penn State, facing their former team.
The last time Temple and Penn State played in Philly was the upset that sent the 2015 Owls on a new trajectory under Matt Rhule, who was in his third season on North Broad.
Temple dominated Penn State, 27-10, and ultimately went 10-4 and played for a conference championship. The Nittany Lions returned the favor a year later and beat the Owls, 34-27, at Beaver Stadium in the most recent meeting in this series.
The other kickoff times for Penn State include the season opener against Marshall on Sept. 5 (3:30 p.m., FS1), which will be Campbell’s debut at Beaver Stadium; a Sept. 19 home matchup against Buffalo (noon, Big Ten Network); the Big Ten opener against Wisconsin on Sept. 26 at home, which the conference says will start no later than 5 p.m.; and a conference road game against Northwestern on Oct. 2 (8 p.m., Fox29).
