Seth Lundy’s NBA dreams came to life Thursday after the Paulsboro native was selected by the Atlanta Hawks in the second round with the 46th pick during the 2023 NBA Draft.

The 23-year-old small forward spent his four-year collegiate career at Penn State. While racking in a number of awards and recognition, this year in particular he emerged as a tremendous shooter, ranking 37th in the country in 3-point percentage and was second in the Big Ten in 3-pointers per game (2.6).

He averaged 14.2 points and 6.3 rebounds on 40% shooting from 3-point range this year, while leading the Nittany Lions to a first round victory in the NCAA Tournament, which hadn’t happened since 2001.

Lundy, a Roman Catholic graduate, had an impressive outing at the 2023 NBA Draft Combine, where he showed consistent midrange shooting, finishing with 12 points in the first scrimmage and 18 points in the second.

Penn State teammate Jalen Pickett also was drafted in the second round (No. 32 overall) to the Denver Nuggets.

The 6-foot-6, 195-pound Lundy finished his college career with 1,282 points, becoming the 39th player in program history to reach the 1,000-point milestone.
