New Temple football coach Rod Carey has hired three analysts who coached with him last season at Northern Illinois: Steve Crutchley, Jake Landry and Tyler Yelk.

Six of Temple’s nine assistant-coach hires in the last few weeks have come from NIU, where Carey was head coach for six seasons.

Crutchley coached receivers; Landry, running backs; and Yelk, safeties.

Temple is expected to announce that Illinois running backs coach Thad Ward will join the staff. Ward coached three seasons at Illinois after working under Carey at NIU for three seasons.
