Temple QB coach Craig Harmon resigns
Harmon has been with Temple coach Rod Carey since 2014 at Northern Illinois.
Temple quarterback coach Craig Harmon, who has been on head coach Rod Carey’s staff dating to 2014 at Northern Illinois, has resigned from his position, The Inquirer has confirmed.
First reported by Owlscoop.com, a Temple source confirmed Harmon has resigned, but didn’t say exactly when, but it was before Wednesday.
Harmon was not available for comment.
This would have been Harmon’s third season as quarterbacks coach.
He first coached under Carey at Northern Illinois in 2014. Carey was NIU’s head coach for six seasons before being hired by Temple Jan. 11, 2019.
Harmon was first hired as tight end and fullbacks coach at NIU in 2014 and added special teams coordinator to his duties in 2015. He then became the quarterbacks coach from 2016-2018.
While nothing is official, Temple is expected to replace Harmon with Jake Landry, according to a person familiar with the situation. Landry has been on Temple’s staff as offensive analyst.

Landry played quarterback at North Dakota from 2007-10 and Carey was an assistant coach on the staff from 2008-10. In addition, Landry also coached running backs for one season under Carey at NIU in 2018.
He came to Temple with Carey and has been an offensive analyst.
The quarterback coach is a key position for Temple, which is looking to replace Anthony Russo, who made 26 starts over the previous three seasons and has since transferred to Michigan State.
Earlier this spring, offensive coordinator Mike Uremovich mentioned there are four players getting the majority of reps at quarterback - redshirt freshman D’Wan Mathis, a transfer from Georgia, redshirt sophomore Re-al Mitchell, who played in three games last season after transferring from Iowa State, redshirt freshman Mariano Valenti, a transfer from Northern Illinois, and freshman Matt Duncan.
