Cam’Ron Stewart, Kajiya Hollawayne, and Evan Simon highlight Temple’s pro day
The Owls had 12 participants in their annual pro day on Thursday in front of 19 NFL scouts, which included representation from the Eagles, Washington Commanders, and Carolina Panthers.

For the last few months, several Temple football players have been preparing for their pro day.
On Thursday, Temple had 12 participants perform a series of drills in front of 19 NFL scouts, which included the Eagles, Washington Commanders, San Francisco 49ers and Carolina Panthers.
Those who participated were offensive lineman Diego Barajas, outside linebacker Charles Calhoun, cornerback Jaylen Castleberry, safety Louis Frye, long snapper Isaiah Hayse, wide receiver Kajiya Hollawayne, safety Jamere Jones, quarterback Gevani McCoy, safety Javier Morton, cornerback Ben Osueke, quarterback Evan Simon, and outside linebacker Cam’Ron Stewart.
Here are some key takeaways from Temple’s pro day:
Stewart takes training to Florida
Linebacker Cam’Ron Stewart had a solid all-around performance. He especially thrived in the 40-yard dash.
Stewart, a 6-foot-5 linebacker, has been in Tampa, Fla., training with Cooper Performance. While he hasn’t heard from any NFL teams personally, his agent has, and he’s hoping to visit some teams before the draft next month.
The Rutgers transfer says he felt blessed for his opportunity at Temple after seeing limited action with the Scarlet Knights. Stewart transferred to the Owls in 2024 as a defensive end before he moved to linebacker last offseason. He posted five sacks this past season.
“When I came to Temple I had to give everything I had,” Stewart said. “When I did that, the sky was the limit.”
Hollawayne connects with Simon
Hollawayne had the longest broad jump with 10 feet, 6 inches. He also showed his connection with Simon as the two participated in positional drills, where he was Simon’s pass catcher.
Hollawayne also displayed his route running on both short and intermediate routes.
“To be honest, I got a little anxious during my first 40, but I realized it’s game day,” Hollawayne said “ You can’t be anxious on game day. That’s where you get your money.”
The receiver initially started as a quarterback at UCLA in 2021. He then made a position switch after transferring to Grambling State. Hollawayne joined the Owls last offseason, where he became one of the most consistent receivers for Simon. His 489 receiving yards were second on the team and he led the Owls with six receiving touchdowns.
Simon gets warm welcome
The sidelines were filled with Simon’s family as he tested in front of scouts.
Simon threw well, completing most of his passes to Hollawayne, receiver Rameir Hardy, and tight end Ryder Kusch. He threw mostly short passes, but completed a few deep balls and had one overthrow to Kusch.
Simon finished the season throwing for career high numbers of 25 touchdowns on 2,097 yards and had just two interceptions. He’s taken his training to North Jersey to prepare for the draft.
The former Rutgers transfer has been in quarterback competitions since his career started in 2020. He said he has heard from some NFL teams during the draft process.
“There’s been a chip on my shoulder for about six years now, starting at Rutgers and finishing here,” Simon said. “It’s been a very big motivator and something I thought of before almost every drill today.”
