Bucks County judge sentences ‘heinous and monstrous’ child rapist to decades in state prison
Carlos Navedo was convicted of raping a 9-year-old girl multiple times over the course of a year.

A Bucks County man who repeatedly raped a 9-year-old girl over the course of a year was sentenced to decades in prison for crimes a judge called “heinous and monstrous.”
Carlos Navedo, 52, will spend 35 to 70 years behind bars under the sentence handed down last week by Bucks County Court Judge Stephen Corr.
The victim, now 13, was surrounded by loved ones in a crowded courtroom as she told Navedo he had robbed her of her childhood.
Navedo was convicted after a three-day trial October of rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, aggravated indecent assault, and related crimes for assaulting the girl at his home in Bristol Township multiple times between 2021 and 2023.
His attorney, Lisa Williams, declined to comment Monday.
As the judge announced the long sentence, he told the girl to draw strength from the people who attended the hearing to support her.
“When things get dark,” Corr said, “just think of everyone in this room right now.”
The teen reported the crime to Bristol Township Police in January 2024, saying Navedo raped her years earlier and forced her to watch pornography, according to the affidavit of probable cause for his arrest.
As a condition of his sentence, Navedo must have no contact with the victim or her family. He will have to register as sex offender for the rest of his life.
Bucks County District Attorney Jenn Schorn said in a statement that she was pleased with the outcome of the case and praised the victim for having the strength to report the crimes.
“Thanks to the courage she displayed, despite having unimaginable acts inflicted upon her at such a young age, and to the tireless efforts of her team, this child predator will likely never see life outside of the four walls of a state correctional facility,” Schorn said.
