Motorist shot in face after exiting Roosevelt Blvd.
Police are trying to determine if the shooter fired from the street or from another vehicle.

A motorist was shot in the face and critically wounded late Monday after exiting Roosevelt Boulevard in Nicetown, police said.
The gunfire erupted about 11 p.m. on St. Luke Street near North Broad Street, police said. Bullets shattered the driver’s side window of the 28-year-old man’s Chevrolet Malibu and one struck the victim in the face before apparently lodging in his throat.
Police said it was not clear if the shooter fired from the roadside or from another vehicle and investigators were looking for surveillance video or witnesses in an effort to determine what led to the shooting.
Arriving officers loaded the driver into their patrol car and took him to Temple University Hospital, where he was reported in critical but stable condition.
Police Chief Inspector Scott Small told reporters at the scene that the driver and his wife were returning home from an evening out in separate cars when the shooting occurred. St. Luke Street is a continuation of an exit from the northbound boulevard to Broad Street.
The woman arrived at the scene a short time after the shooting, Small said, adding investigators would question her at the hospital to see if she could shed any light on what happened.
