A Haddonfield man was killed and another man was injured in a road rage shooting in Southwest Philadelphia on Saturday, authorities said.
Miguel Quinones-Barreto, 20, was struck by gunfire around 4:50 p.m. on the 5200 block of Chester Avenue, according to police.
He had traveled from New Jersey to Philadelphia that afternoon to attend a bike meetup near the Art Museum that had been promoted on social media, according to a law enforcement source who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss an ongoing investigation.
Investigators said the incident began when the driver of a Toyota SUV got involved in an accident with a group of men riding e-bikes and off-road vehicles.
After the men chased and surrounded the Toyota, a confrontation began and someone inside the vehicle opened fire, the source said.
Officers arrived to find Quinones-Barreto and a 25-year-old man, whom they did not identify, suffering from gunshot wounds.
The men were rushed to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where Quinones-Barreto was pronounced dead shortly after 5 p.m.
The other man received treatment for a gunshot wound to the arm and is in stable condition, police said.
Homicide detectives are investigating and no arrests have been made.
