2 dead, 8 injured in multiple stabbings and shootings in Philadelphia on Sunday

The spree of stabbings and shootings in Philadelphia occurred on Sunday.

Two people were shot to death and eight others injured in a spree of gun violence and stabbings in Philadelphia on Sunday that started just after midnight and continued through the day.

Investigations were continuing and no arrests were reported. Police provided the following accounts:

At 12:20 a.m., a 31-year-old man was stabbed in the left hand on the 3300 block of North Ninth Street in North Philadelphia. He was taken to Temple University Hospital in stable condition.

At 12:35 a.m., a 22-year-old man was shot multiple times on the 7500 block of Brewster Avenue in Southwest Philadelphia. He was pronounced dead at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center about 20 minutes later.

At 1:52 a.m., a 29-year-old man was stabbed in an arm on the 100 block of South Broad Street in Center City. He was taken to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in stable condition.

At 2:42 a.m., a 19-year-old man was shot in the lower back on the 1100 block of West York Street in North Philadelphia. He was taken to Temple in critical condition.

A minute later, a 36-year-old man was stabbed in the torso and left shoulder on the 800 block of East Allegheny Avenue in Kensington. He was taken to Temple in stable condition.

At 3:22 a.m., another 36-year-old man was shot in the right foot at A and Wishart Streets in Kensington. He also was in stable condition at Temple.

At noon, a 28-year-old man was shot once in the right leg on the 4900 block of Frankford Avenue in the city’s Frankford section. He was in stable condition at Jefferson Frankford Hospital.

At 4:21 p.m., a 23-year-old woman was shot in the chest on the 2500 block of North Alder Street in North Philadelphia. She was taken to Temple, where she died a little more than an hour later.

At 6:51 p.m., a man in his mid-20s was stabbed in the right side of his neck on the 2700 block of North Hemberger Street. He was taken to Temple in critical condition.

And at 7:14 p.m., a 19-year-old man found inside a gold Buick had been shot twice in his right leg, twice in his left leg, and once in the right buttock on the 1400 block of West Lehigh Avenue. He was taken to Temple in a private vehicle and was in critical condition.
